The service and its publisher
These terms govern CookIt, the Android and iOS recipe app and related services published by Martin Confais (“we”). Contact: cookit.app.contact@gmail.com.
By using CookIt, you agree to these terms. Data processing is explained in the Privacy Policy; that notice does not replace consent where required. You must be at least 13 and, if you are a minor, have a parent or legal guardian’s permission where the law requires it, including for purchases.
Account, sign-in and sync
A Google or Apple account is required for the current version. Protect your credentials and reconnect using the provider associated with your account. Two sign-ins with the same email do not necessarily merge CookIt accounts.
Your library belongs to your account and syncs when connectivity permits. A local copy supports offline use after an initial sign-in. Pending changes are not yet guaranteed to be backed up. When a local library meets an existing account library, CookIt may ask how to reconcile them; review confirmations before any replacement.
Import drafts and notifications remain linked to the requesting installation. Once saved, the recipe joins the synced library.
Imports, AI and external sources
A URL import retrieves accessible public content and may use remote AI to create a draft, optionally translated into the app language. An accepted job can continue after you close the app. An unsent import may need the app to be reopened to resume.
Review and correct the draft before saving it. We do not guarantee completeness or accuracy. Inaccessible, private, paywalled, unsupported or oversized sources can prevent import. CookIt does not bypass these restrictions.
A public URL does not automatically grant reproduction rights. Use recipes, text and photos in accordance with their authors’ rights and source terms. Importing does not transfer rights in third-party content to you. External websites remain under their publishers’ responsibility.
Your content and sharing
You retain the rights you hold in recipes, photos, notes and other content you add. You grant us only the permissions necessary to store, sync and process it for features you request and, if you share it, make it available through the link. Third-party rights remain reserved.
A share link makes a copy viewable by anyone holding it for 30 days. They can forward the link or save the copy. Review content and sharing permissions before sending it. Link expiry or account deletion does not remove copies already retained by recipients.
Temporary import sessions and drafts expire; an opened draft abandoned without saving may be deleted. Do not treat a draft as a permanent backup.
Cooking, nutrition and food safety
CookIt helps organise and view recipes. Entered, imported or supplied content is not personalised medical or nutritional advice or a food safety guarantee.
Verify ingredients, quantities, nutrition, times and temperatures; adjust servings and follow storage, hygiene and cooking guidance. CookIt does not analyse allergens. Check labels and allergy or cross-contamination risks yourself, and consult a professional where necessary.
Acceptable use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the app for its intended functions, subject to your statutory rights. You must not:
- use the service for unlawful, infringing or harmful content;
- attempt to access other people’s accounts or data;
- bypass access, payment, integrity or security controls;
- overload the service or automate abusive use;
- decompile or extract the software except where the law permits.
The code, brand, design and publisher-supplied content remain protected. Third-party libraries, graphics and content retain their respective licences and rights. If you send feedback, you authorise us to use it to improve the service without transferring your private content.
Leaving CookIt and deleting your account
You can stop using CookIt at any time. To delete your account and its data, use Settings → Delete account or email cookit.app.contact@gmail.com. We verify ownership before processing external requests.
Deletion covers the cloud library, account-owned photos, lists, meal plans, links, imports and notification registrations, plus associated profiles. Limited technical deletion proofs remain for 90 days after processing completes. Limits and retention are explained in the Privacy Policy.
Uninstalling alone does not delete your account or cloud library. Manage the Store subscription separately; cancellation is not a prerequisite for requesting deletion.
Service changes and availability
We maintain and develop CookIt. Maintenance, connectivity, incidents or external providers may interrupt the service. We do not guarantee continuous availability, successful import of every URL or preservation of a change that has not yet synced.
We may restrict access for abuse, security threats or breaches of these terms, with notice and a way to contact us where possible and appropriate. Service changes or discontinuation respect applicable digital service and subscription rights; significant changes will be communicated.
Guarantees and liability
We provide the service with reasonably expected care and comply with applicable statutory guarantees, including those for digital content and services. These terms do not remove those guarantees or mandatory remedies.
To the extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for loss caused by unlawful use or use contrary to these terms, third-party content outside our control, or external causes beyond our reasonable control. No clause excludes or limits liability where doing so is prohibited, including intentional or gross fault, personal injury or breaches of mandatory consumer rights.
Applicable law and complaints
These terms are governed by French law without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Statutory jurisdiction rules determine the competent court; these terms do not require consumers to bring claims exclusively in France.
If a problem arises, contact cookit.app.contact@gmail.com so we can seek a solution. This does not remove legal remedies or legally available dispute resolution routes. If a clause is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to the extent allowed by law.
Changes and contact
Updated on 7 October 2026. Material changes will be announced with reasonable notice, normally at least 30 days, except where law, security or an urgent correction requires otherwise. Changes are not retroactive and comply with applicable consent or termination requirements. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the service and exercise your statutory rights.
The French and English versions describe the same terms. If they differ, the French version is the reference, subject to mandatory protections and the information provided to you.
